This site is dedicated to the victims of
neurological diseases, spinal injuries, and any of the diseases that
scientists say may one day be treated with either human embryonic stem cells
(hESCs) or somatic nuclear cell transfer (SCNT). More than 70 are listed on

someone with any of those conditions. Let's not forget our battle injured
warriors, suffering from organ damage, burns, broken bones, and numerous
other injuries that may also have been treated, had our government been
behind this research 100% for the past five years!
On June 19, 2007, the President subjected us to the
ultimate insult for the second time. Our extremely unpopular President
shocked the vast majority of the people when he vetoed possibly the most
important medical research bill of the coming century! Someday, this bill
will pass--Is there any doubt in your mind! Compassion for fellow humans is
a big part of Christianity; however, the religious extremists who oppose
this research look the other way instead of being considerate of others;
they also ignore the Bible. Moreover, they turned this into a political
issue with the “Grand Ayatollah” (George Bush) obstructing potentially
life-saving science.
Either you believe what the Bible says or you do not. For those who claim to believe the Bible but are against embryonic stem cell research, the Bible clearly states that blood is life of every creature! References: Leviticus 17:11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. Leviticus 17:14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, "You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off."Deuteronomy 12:23 But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat. If you believe the Bible, there can no doubt in your mind regarding what constitutes life! Human embryonic stem cells have no blood; therefore, they have no life!

Why do these extremists point to ambiguous Bible passages to support their position? Because they are truly anti-abortionists, and abortion is legal so they need another issue. The anti-abortion leaders falsely sold this issue to their followers as an abortion issue. Why—to keep their sheep lathered up, which ensures continued donations. People cannot comprehend the facts when they are part of a group that blindly accepts everything their spiritual leader says. People who blindly follow their religious leaders sometimes become part of a disaster. Names like Jim Bakker, Eric Robert Rudolph, John Burt, Paul Hill, and James Charles Kopp, as well as others come to mind. The list goes on and on. Some people, searching for salvation, are so gullible--supposedly intelligent people fall for such nonsense as that of Jim Jones (the son of a Klansman) when they followed him to Guyana, David Koresh and his Branch Dividians, Marshall Applewhite and his followers riding the comet Hale-Bopp into oblivion. Not far from here, religious cults handle poisonous snakes as part of their religious ceremonies! I wonder if a snake that bites becomes a sacrifice! hmm… We have people that embrace the Koran and become terrorists in their own country. Some of our private schools turn out students that are just as fanatical as the children who are taught in the Pakistani Madrasas.

2006, the President signed the Lifespan Respite Care Act, into Public Law

Toward the end of this Law’s text funding is noted for five years beginning
in Fy-2007 (October 1, 2006) and ending FY-2011 (September 30, 2011). The
amounts noted in the Law start at $30 million for FY- 2007, with annual
increases to $94.81 million for FY-2011. For some reason this Law received
no funds for FY-2007 and there may be a funding problem for FY-2008. I am
writing to Senator Warner to ask for an explanation. This brings us to waste
in the Federal Government—that is cash, not trash! We know that Congress
wastes taxpayers’ money and we do nothing about it. In 2006, pork barrel
spending totaled $3.4 billion. On top of the pork, dead farmers were paid
$2.8 billion, and we are spending $200 million a da getting our bravest
young men and women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have no idea how much
money our government wastes. Consider this, when the pork arrives in the
home State or Congressional District, the voters say, this is wonderful,
look what our Representative got for us—I will be sure to vote for him/her
again. In this respect—we are our own worst enemies. Pork barrel spending is
nothing but Senators and Congresspersons getting money sent to their State
or District for B/S programs. This gives them talking points for their next
election. They do not care about the Respite Care Act or reduction in
Medicare/Medicaid benefits. The financial woes of the terminally ill and
permanently injured mean nothing to them! Our money is just a matter of
numbers to Congress. They do not relate this money to illness or injury
induced poverty, after all, it is almost election time and sending the pork
home could guarantee reelection. They are pleasant and agreeable at home in
their district but when they get to Washington most are the greediest, most
arrogant people on earth. Now all together say, my Representatives are not
like that! Just think, instead of spending money on pork—spend it on
increasing medical benefits. Every state would benefit economically
proportional to the number of their ill and injured; however, nobody
believes in John F. Kennedy’s words “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not
what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.”
Many of us are selfish and greedy until we become one of the needy!
Our President is willing to send our troops in harm's way, to kill untold
numbers of people in foreign lands, both on and off the battlefield, yet he
will not agree to spend “our tax money” to do research on doomed
cells--the vast majority of which will go down the toilet in a Clorox
solution. He loves to spend “our tax money” blasting expectant
mothers in Afghanistan and Iraq to bits. Apparently, he does not consider
them to be of value. Yet the doomed eggs that he cherishes so greatly might
provide therapies for deadly diseases and crippling injuries for millions of
people! Check the letter (link below) that Harvard University scientists
sent to the House of Representatives regarding this administration’s lies
about “early stem cell” research! I see a definite pattern of lies, denial,
and blatant disregard for the wishes of the vast majority of our citizens.
If you think this is a democracy, you are wrong. A Federated Republic is a
more appropriate term.
Please keep the victims of these diseases and conditions in mind as you
review the facts I have provided. Your continued stream of letters to the
politicians who would outlaw SCNT research or are opposed to expanding the
federal funding of hESC research
to new, pure, therapeutic
lines is vital. When your targeted Representative refuses to change their
vote, you can demonstrate your displeasure by working against that
individual’s reelection! Convince your family and friends that this
particular Representative is a party partisan, and that is not good for the
heath of our fellow compatriots, our descendants, or our nation. We are
making an impact—the number of Senators and Congresspersons voting for the
Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act has increased considerably.
Make no mistake about it; we are in a medical research war with some of our elected Representatives. Some are catering to the so-called religious right/anti-abortion faction and this is leading to the devastation of their party! If these fellow Christians would analyze the facts instead of listening to the spin, they may "SEE THE LIGHT". Our number-one priority must be the lives and health of our society. If our elected Representatives are willing to let our citizens suffer and die by restricting this research—we must get new Representatives!
We must not let them hijack this research!
